Four simple steps: visit PKA, apply, secure your space, and you’re enrolled. See how enrollment works →

Submitting an application does not hold a space. Enrollment is confirmed once your application is approved, a schedule is offered, and the one-month tuition deposit and $450 Annual School Fee are received.

Availability depends on the schedule and location. If your preferred schedule is full, we add you to our waitlist and contact you when a space opens.

Schedules and tuition

Families choose 5 days (Monday–Friday), 3 days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) or 2 days (Tuesday, Thursday). Days start at 8:00, 8:30 or 9:00 AM and end at 1:00, 3:00 or 6:00 PM, depending on location and availability. See schedule options →

Tuition is monthly and depends on the days and hours you choose. Enrollment also includes a one-month tuition deposit and the $450 Annual School Fee. See current tuition →

Your one-month deposit is held and applied to your child’s June tuition, the final month of our September–June school year.

A day at PKA

Our approach is play-based and inspired by Reggio Emilia and Montessori. Children’s interests help lead the way, and teachers guide when needed and step back when it matters. Read how we learn →

A typical day starts with arrival and greetings, free play and classroom exploration, then meditation and morning meeting. Mornings bring group projects, snack and food tastings, playground time, and music, yoga or an adventure in the neighborhood.

After lunch and story time, children have nap or quiet time, followed by afternoon play, outdoor exploration and a story to close the day. Children are picked up according to their own schedules.

We believe every child deserves individual attention. We always have at least one teacher for every six children, and most classrooms have three teachers. Our owners, Josie and Quin, are on site as directors at our two locations, and both are caring, experienced classroom teachers.

All of our teachers have earned or are working toward a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. Our owners, Josie and Quin, are both experienced classroom teachers with degrees, and Josie, PKA’s Education Director, holds a master’s degree in early childhood education. Meet our team →

No. Our teachers support children through potty training.

Families pack lunch and snacks, and we offer food tastings during the week. Children on longer schedules have a rest or nap time after lunch.

We are a nut-free school and work with each family on an allergy plan.

We know the first days are big ones. We offer a gentle phase-in, and teachers keep families updated throughout the day.

Teachers share photos and daily updates through Brightwheel.

Children stay home with a fever or contagious illness and return after 48 hours symptom-free.

Children leave PKA curious, confident and ready: socially, emotionally and as learners. Many PKA families say it best. Read parent reviews →

PKA is a hidden gem. We could not have chosen a better preschool for our daughter, who was there for 3 years.
