Our Teachers
Familiar faces. Big hearts.
Strong relationships are at the center of everything we do. Children build confidence when they know they are cared for, understood and part of a community.

Our Story
Best friends since childhood.
PKA began with two best friends. Quin Marino and Josie Wold have known each other since they were kids, and in 2003 they started a small Brooklyn preschool built on a simple idea: childhood should feel like discovery.
That friendship is still at the heart of PKA. It’s why the school feels the way it does: warm, familiar and close-knit, a place where children are known and families become part of the community.

How our teachers teach.
They know every child. Because PKA is intentionally small, teachers have time to really know each child: their personality, interests, friendships, strengths and the little things that make them who they are.
They guide, then step back. Teachers create opportunities, ask thoughtful questions and introduce new materials, then give children space to make choices, solve problems and discover things for themselves.
They bring warmth and consistency. Our teachers bring experience, warmth, patience and consistency, so children feel comfortable being themselves, trying something new and growing at their own pace.
